Halle Berry Says Don't Count Her Out After Fight Scene Injury On MMA Movie 'Bruised'

Halle Berry is thanking her fans for showering her with love after becoming injured on the set of her film “Bruised.”

The actress took to Instagram writing, “Thank you to all the folks that have showered me with love since my injury. It’s par for the course when you do your own stunts, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Just know I’m far from tired. I’m wide awake...and just getting started! 💪🏽🙏🏽 #BruisedTheMovie."

Berry was injured on set during a fight scene. The film’s executive producer, Brian Pitt, confirmed the injury saying, ““Halle got slightly injured in the fight.” He added, “She’s tired. She needed a break.”

“Occasionally what’s going to happen is an actor might get a little injured, and we might adjust scheduling around them a little bit.", said the producer.

The production has been shut down to allow Berry time to recover. The details of Berry’s injury are unclear. “Bruised” is scheduled to resume production on Friday.

Berry’s celebrity friends and fans showed her love in the comments. La La Anthony said, “Hope ur ok Halle. Sending love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”

A fan said “you are a fighter! You will be back soon stronger than before” and“@halleberry Please rest and heal, before hitting it hard again. Hugs and much aloha❤️❤️❤️”

In the film, Halle plays Jackie an MMA fighter who fights under the name, "Justice." Her character is going through a hard time and has to get her life back together so she can regain custody of her young son.

She spoke about the role, "It’s a movie about a woman who once had a promising MMA career, she was going up the ranks of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), and then something unthinkable happened that derailed her career, and we find her five years later, and she has to make her way back. It’s a movie I’m extremely passionate about. It has a wonderful message. I think it’s a message that women need to hear."

Berry has been working out hardcore for the role. She recently showed off her rock hard abs on social media.

She said, “Happy #FitnessFriday, everyone! There’s no better feeling than setting a goal and smashing it. One of my goals for #BruisedTheMovie? Ripped Abs - and today?
