Halloween 2022: When and where to trick or treat in Marion County

Cooler weather has arrived, and Halloween is just weeks away. Don't miss out on all the holiday fun with trick-or-treating in Marion County.

Some Marion County communities are celebrating Oct. 29 which is a Saturday while others will hold trick or treat on Halloween night which is a Monday. Remember to leave porch lights turned on if participating in the fun.

2022 trick or treat information

Caledonia: Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. For those that live outside the village limits, set up in the village square for a trunk or treat.

Green Camp: Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Costume judging will take place at the community center at 7 p.m.

LaRue: Oct. 29 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Marion City: Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Marion Township: Oct. 31 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Morral: Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

New Bloomington: Oct. 29 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Village council will be passing out treat bags in the post office parking lot with the Scioto Valley Fire Department.

Prospect: Oct. 29 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with a parade at 7 p.m.

Waldo: Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Other Halloween events near Marion

Beyond the community trick or treat nights, there are other opportunities to celebrate Halloween in the Marion area.

Marion Tallgrass Trail will hold its annual Trail of Treats on Oct. 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. weather permitting. Visit the Tallgrass Trail's Facebook page the day of the event for more information. To help hand out candy, message Marion County Park District.

For older audiences and scare junkies, Eco Center's "Phobia Haunted Trail" is open Friday and Saturday nights from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. through the end of October. Local haunted house, the Haunted Hoorah, is also open Friday and Saturday nights from 8 p.m. to midnight.

In Cardington on Oct. 29 there will be a costume parade at 4 p.m. from the Methodist to American Legion Park. A costume contest will immediately follow in the park, and a trunk or treat will take place from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
