Halloween is almost here. We have trick-or-treat hours and more
LANSING — Jack-o'-lanterns are starting to light up in anticipation of the potential knock-knock-knock of costumed trick-or-treaters on Halloween.
Corn mazes, costume parties, spooky hayrides and other events are happening to celebrate the upcoming annual Oct. 31 celebration of all that is black-and-orange scary.
As usual, communities throughout Greater Lansing are emphasizing safety as a key ingredient in this seasonal brew of creepy, crawly fun.
While some ghoulish knocks may arrive after porchlights switch off, here are set hours for trick-or-treaters, as well as some community events for those who especially enjoy this boo-tiful and spooky time of year:
Ingham County
Lansing, trick-or-treating from 6-8 p.m.
Also, a Drive-Thru Trick-or-Treat will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Frances Park, 2701 Moores River Drive. The Lansing parks and recreation and fire departments will host a “Drive-Thru Halloween” and trick-or-treating. Vendors will hand out candy and other resources along the driving route. Traffic will be directed one way on the driving route.
East Lansing, 6-8 p.m.
The 2023 Great Pumpkin Walk will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, in downtown East Lansing. Families with costumed children can trick-or-treat with more than 25 participating businesses.
Mason, 6-8 p.m.
Delhi Township, 6-8 p.m.
Meridian Township, 6-8 p.m.
Eaton County
Grand Ledge, 6-8 p.m.
The Bridge Street Trick or Treat will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27. Kids in costumes and their families can trick-or-treat in downtown Grand Ledge and enjoy the spooky cheer.
Charlotte, 6-8 p.m.
Eaton Rapids, 6-8 p.m.
Delta Township, 6-8 p.m.
Clinton County
St. Johns, 6:30-8 p.m.
Also, the Downtown Trick-or-Treat will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, in downtown St. Johns. The St. Johns Area Chamber of Commerce will host this trick-or-treating event.
Bath Township, 6-8 p.m.
DeWitt, 6-8 p.m.
