PORTSMOUTH — On Monday, Oct. 16, the public is invited to explore a collection of audio and video archives from the Seacoast LGBTQ+ community. Tom Kaufhold and Holly Cashman, collaborators on the NH Seacoast LGBT History Project, will share clips from their oral history project and other video archives at this virtual "ribbon cutting" event from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Portsmouth Public Library's Levenson Room.

Halloween Craft Night

BERWICK, Maine — On Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Berwick Public Library, Rob Gutro, best-selling author, paranormal investigator, and medium with Inspired Ghost Tracking of Maryland, will host a talk called Haunted Cases from Inspired Ghost Tracking.

PORTSMOUTH — A special Saint Nicholas Taverna is planned for Saturday evening, Nov. 4, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Jarvis Center, on 40 Andrew Jarvis Drive in Portsmouth.  The event will feature authentic Greek food, live music by Dilina and dancing. This Taverna night, presented by the families of the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church is another one of the special events celebrating Portsmouth’s 400th and the richness of the community. ROLLINSFORD — Learn the basics of leatherworking with historical cordwainer Brett Walker at a one-day workshop on Friday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Rollinsford’s historic Colonel Paul Wentworth House. Participants will make a reproduction leather document case based on an original owned by Stratham, N.H. shoemaker Samuel Lane (1718-1806) and now in the collections of the New Hampshire Historical Society. The fee of $155 includes all materials and tools to use during the workshop. This workshop is suitable for adults (minors aged 15-18 admitted only with parental supervision), and space is limited. Paint the Parish House harvest supper and speaker

GREENLAND — The Greenland Community Church Women’s Alliance is sponsoring a special Paint the Parish House Harvest Supper on Friday, Oct. 20 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Community Parish House at 44 Post Road, Greenland. The roast pork dinner will be $20 per person, $35 per couple, and $10 for children ten years old and under. The dinner will be followed at 6:30 p.m. by special speaker John Porter, who will speak about “The History of Agriculture As Told By Barns” which highlights how New Hampshire barns transformed over time to meet changing agricultural needs. Admission to the talk is free, but donations to Paint the Parish House will be gratefully accepted.

Cocheco Quilters quilt show

ROCHESTER — Join the Cocheco Quilters Guild on Oct. 21 and Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at their 41st annual quilt show, “Cocheco Village” at the James Foley Memorial Community Center, 150 Wakefield St., Rochester.  Cost is $10/person for a two-day admission.  Children under 12 are free with paying adult. There will be door prizes, a member boutique of items to purchase, vendors, luncheon, and a penny sale.

Handcrafted pies at Madbury Church ham and bean supper

MADBURY — A Ham & Bean Supper hosted by The Madbury Church, will be Saturday, Oct. 21, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy baked ham, a variety of homemade baked beans, hot dogs, coleslaw, potato salad, assorted bread, a 20-item salad bar, and beverages.  A highlight is delicious handcrafted fruit and cream pies for dessert.
