Halloween forecast: Chilly temps, snow shower may haunt metro Detroit

In keeping with Midwest tradition, trick-or-treaters should bundle up before hitting the streets this Halloween.

Some of the season's chilliest temperatures are expected to spook metro Detroiters to the bones Tuesday, with highs barely climbing to 40 degrees and lows reaching 30. If that's not scary enough, a snow shower is also haunting the evening forecast.

On a bright note, the cold temperatures mean no more allergy woes as we settle into frost season. Say goodbye to pollen and hello to black ice.

The Halloween forecast appears to be a stroke of bad luck, as temperatures are expected to warm up from there for the rest of the week, reaching a high of 55 degrees on Friday, and not a mention of snow in sight. Tuesday is predicted to be the coldest day of the week, which is on theme for the night of ghouls and ghosts.

Happy haunting, and keep warm.
