Halloween Horror Nights Returning to Universal Studios Florida in September

Halloween Horror Nights will be returning to Universal Studios in Orlando, Fla., in September, it was announced Friday.
In its 30th year, Halloween Horror Nights will run from Sept. 3 to Oct. 31, providing a full two months of spooky thrills.
For the special anniversary, Universal is bringing back a character from its first Halloween Horror Nights, then called Fright Nights.

The "ghost with the most," Beetlejuice, will get his own haunted house this year.
"From the infamous haunted attic within the Maitland home, to the model graveyard and Dante's Inferno Room, guests will have the extraordinary chance to enter the movie surrounded by its most iconic characters," the park said in a press release. "With brash defiance, Beetlejuice is ready to turn on the juice and see what shakes loose – and his plans don't include returning to the land of the unliving."
So far, the other haunted house themes are being kept under wraps. None of the park's Scare Zone themes have been released yet.

The popular event was canceled at both of the park locations in Orlando and Hollywood last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While parks are still closed in California, they've been open in Florida with strict safety guidelines for several months.
Halloween Horror nights will be no different. Face masks and temperature checks are required for entrance, and social distancing is encouraged. Prior to boarding most rides, guests are required to use hand sanitizer as well.

Other details on event-specific safety requirements will be shared in the coming months, the park said.
Anyone who didn't already receive a refund for their 2020 tickets will be able to use them for the 2021 event, according to the company. Details on how to do so have not yet been released.
