Halloween takes Abilene by storm with an abundance of community events

This weekend represents your last chance to enjoy Boo at the Zoo. From 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, October 28 and Sunday October 29, children of all ages can enjoy Pumpkin Chunkin’, close-up animal encounters, a hay-bale maze, live shows, and of course lots of treats and animals to see!

As always, the carousel and train will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.  There will also be various vendors hosting Trick-or-Treat stations throughout the zoo, and there will even be a costume dance party.

Families ride the train at the Abilene Zoo during Boo at the Zoo in 2020. This family-fun event features games, Punkin' Chunkin', and animals enjoying pumpkins. This weekend is your last chance to enjoy all that the Zoo has to offer for Halloween.

According to the Abilene Zoo’s website, each vendor must have a minimum of 5,000 pieces of candy per day, so there is sure to be more than enough to go around.

And, even though there may be rain in our forecast, Boo at the Zoo takes place rain or shine. Read on below to enjoy all that Abilene has to offer this Halloween season.
