Halsey Covered Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" for Emmys 2019 In-Memoriam

Halsey took to the stage at the 71st Annual Emmys Awards to perform for the in-memoriam portion of the show. The singer covered a piano rendition of Cyndi Lauper's 1983 hit song, "Time After Time."

After a night of political speeches and emotional wins, most notably for When They See Us star Jharrel Jerome, the song soothed viewers during the latter half of the show. Cameron Boyce, John Singleton, and Penny Marshall were just a few of the people honored in the emotional tribute.

Halsey recently released "Graveyard," a song about loving someone who's going into a dark place. “I also needed to take responsibility for my actions," Halsey recently told Apple Music's Beats 1 host Zane Lowe about the revealing song.

Adding, "The song is me saying, is an acknowledgment of the positions that I put myself in that could've caused me or my life any kind of harm. It's accountability."

Halsey's forthcoming album, Manic, is set to release in January.
