Haman Family Foundation awards grants to 8 local organizations

COLUMBUS − The Haman Family Foundation recently awarded grants to eight Tuscarawas County organizations.

Grant recipients are:

  • The Camp Tuscazoar Foundation, $2,500, to help with the cost of replacing the roof on the ranger’s residence.

  • East Central Ohio Educational Service Center, $2,000, to purchase books for the 2023 Family Reading Festival on Nov. 4.

  • Ohio Guidestone, $3,000, for furniture and housewares at Stillwater Crossing, the new men’s residential treatment center.

  • Panhandle Athletic Club, $2,000, for lawn maintenance equipment for the athletic fields.

  • The Salvation Army, $2,500, for services to families in Tuscarawas County, including assistance with food and utilities.

  • Tuscarawas County Literacy Coalition, $1,000, to purchase books for the 2023 One Book One Community program.

  • Tuscarawas County Public Library, $3,486, to set up a seven-unit iPad lab for programming and training classes for the public.

  • Zoar Community Association, $2,000 for the Best of Zoar exhibit in the Town Hall.

The foundation was created by the late Robert L. and Freda I. Haman, lifelong residents of the area, for the general purpose of assisting qualified charities in the county.The next deadline for Haman Foundation grant requests is Feb. 28 for grants to be awarded in March.
