Leslie Odom Jr. recently played a scientist in the film "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery."

Other credits include his portrayal of legendary crooner Sam Cooke in the Amazon movie "One Night In Miami ..." and playing a numbers runner for a crime family in the 2021 HBO thriller "The Many Saints of Newark."

Yet the Philadelphia native is best known for his portrayal of Aaron Burr in "Hamilton" on Broadway that earned him a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical, showcasing his many talents.

Odom will sing hits from "Hamilton," other Broadway hits, Sam Cooke songs and more Saturday night at Artis—Naples.

What can the audience expect at your show

“I don’t like people to leave a show of mine disappointed in any way," Odom said, adding the concert will "certainly include all their favorites."

And who knows, even though it's March, Odom could select a tune from either of his two Christmas albums he's released in the last few years.

Performing for an audience like the one at Artis—Naples this weekend is what Odom called his "favorite thing I get to do of all the wonderful things I get to do."

"This is what I've dreamed about since I was a little, little boy," he said.

Did you ever expect the success of “Hamilton”?

"I don't know if you can know that," Odom said. "The only thing I knew without question was how I felt about it. I knew how it moved me.

"At the time of the development of the show, there was nowhere I’d rather be than with those people in that room working on that material. I just walked toward that light.”

Odom big fan of horror genre

Odom said he recently wrapped up filming for "The Exorcist," a sequel of the 1973 original about a 12-year-old girl who is possessed. The latest version will drop around Halloween.

Odom — who called himself "a huge horror movie fan" — will serve in the lead role, as the father of a possessed child in search of a man who has had similar experiences.

Also this fall, Odom said, he will return to Broadway to play the role of actor Ossie Davis in the 1961 musical "Purlie Victorious." It's set in the Jim Crow South, with traveling preacher Purlie Victorious Johnson returning to his small town to save the community church.

And Odom said he and his wife, Nicolette Robinson, have a children's book due out in late March, titled "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know."
