London theatergoers will be the first to return to “the room where it happens.”

“Hamilton” is expected to be back in London’s West End this summer, more than a year after it shuttered due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The smash hit musical’s co-producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh announced that the Tony, Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning show will resume production at the Victoria Palace Theatre on Aug. 19.

“The last year has been unbelievably hard for everyone but particularly so for the Theatre profession,” Mackintosh said with Wednesday’s announcement. “I have been moved and inspired by the resilience and camaraderie of so many practitioners from all aspects of our industry who have taken on any job so that they and their families could survive.”

The acclaimed producer said he was “delighted” to share the news “now that the Prime Minister has told us that we are on track to reopen ‘cautiously but irreversibly’ this summer. No need to Wait For It any longer!”

Created by Lin-Manuel Miranda with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and direction from Thomas Kahil, “Hamilton” opened in London in December of 2017 and went on to win seven Olivier Awards and continued to play there until theaters closed last March.

“For over a year the lights on the West End have been dark and our friends, family and colleagues on and off the stage have been out of work,” Miranda — who originated the title role on Broadway — added with “tremendous gratitude.”

Now booking though February 2022, the hip-hop fused story about America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton is one of many productions making plans to reopen on the West End this season.

“Everybody Loves Jamie,” “Les Miserables - The Staged Concert” and “Amelie the Musical” are among the musicals slated to open in May.

Social distancing measures will be in effect from May 17 through June 21, when no restrictions are scheduled to be in place, in accordance to the government’s road map remaining on track.
