HamiltonPark, restaurant in New Haven's Blake Hotel, will close and be replaced by Italian restaurant

Jul. 28—"RMS Companies has had a successful relationship with Siena at Hotel Degrees Norwalk for the past couple of years, and we believe now is a great time to introduce them to New Haven," RMS spokesperson Anne Miranda said in an email. "There will now be more hours with a lunch and dinner service open five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday."

The Norwalk outpost of Siena Ristorante will remain open. High George, the rooftop restaurant at The Blake, will close temporarily and reopen August 15 with extended hours and a new name, Siena at High George, Miranda wrote.

Hamilton Park's menu was largely seasonal American with influences of international cuisines — think Thai coconut curry mussels alongside a burger and elotes — while Siena Ristorante's is more traditionally Italian, although it also includes seasonal and contemporary twists.

The Norwalk restaurant, which opened in September 2021, serves pizza and house-made pasta, along with vegetable, fish and meat entrees.

Hamilton Park was opened by Tyler Anderson, the James Beard Award-nominated chef behind Millwright's in Simsbury. He stepped away from the New Haven restaurant in 2021.

Anderson's website shows he is still working with Terreno at The Goodwin hotel in Hartford, which is also owned by RMS Companies.

Chef Matt Lambert, who ran the kitchen at Hamilton Park when it opened in 2019, returned to his home country of New Zealand.

The Hamilton Park announcement indicated that Siena Ristorante will open in its place on August 15, though a post on a newly created Siena New Haven Facebook page said: "We are aiming to open our doors by late August."
