The Hamilton softball team got its final tune-up before the district playoffs with a big 13-0 win over Forest Hills Eastern on Thursday, with junior pitcher Madie Jamrog tossing her third no-hitter of the season.

She tossed all seven innings, walked two hitters and struck out 12. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate with a triple, stolen base and an RBI. Kianna Vork went 2-for-4 with an RBI as well. Tiernan Nykamp also got two hits and drove in three runs.

“I really enjoyed watching our team continue to grow throughout the game today. Madie Jamrog was phenomenal on the mound throwing a no-hitter. Offensively, we had production throughout the lineup, which will be key as we move into the state tournament," said Hamilton coach Mark Behnke. "The second season is now upon us so I know our players are excited to compete.  Our district is very competitive and we look forward to the opportunity.”

The Hawkeyes will take on Unity Christian in the district semifinals Saturday afternoon at Holland Christian.
