Hamlin Fountain & Gifts closing its doors after more than 60 years of business
Hamlin Fountain & Gifts is closing its doors after 62 years of business.
Originally called Hamlin Pharmacy, the family-owned business remained the last soda fountain in Corpus Christi. The business announced it will close for good on May 7.
"For 62 years we’ve enjoyed opening our doors and welcoming our customers every morning and it’s been a fun ride," the business posted on social media after announcing the retirement of owner Karen Nicolson earlier this month.

Nicolson's parents, Joanne and Karl Arnold, opened Hamlin Pharmacy at 3801 S. Staples St. in 1960. The pharmacy became a local favorite for its burgers and milkshakes.
Hamlin Fountain and Gifts will have a 25% off storewide sale, according to the post.
