New Hampshire Secretary of State David Scanlan (R) is set to announce the Granite State’s presidential primary on Wednesday, his office said, solidifying another piece of the presidential nominating calendar as 2024 heats up.

Iowa and New Hampshire have long kicked off the process, but the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is reshuffling its primary calendar — putting South Carolina first in the lineup and booting New Hampshire from its first-primary slot.

Democrats in the Granite State have been irked by the Biden-backed plan, and New Hampshire has indicated it intends to stick to its first-in-the-nation position despite the DNC plans.

President Biden didn’t file for the New Hampshire primary, citing obligations to comply with DNC guidance. His supporters in the state have launched a write-in campaign.

Scanlan will announce the primary date around 2 p.m. ET at the New Hampshire State House in Concord, according to a release from the secretary’s office.
