New Hampshire sports fans wager nearly $70 million in September

Oct. 30—CONCORD — With the NFL and NCAA football seasons driving the action, the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings saw sports fans wager more than $68.1 million in September 2021, marking the Granite State's largest sports betting month on record. New Hampshire sports fans have bet more than $141.1 million this fiscal year, which puts total wagering up more than 75% year-over-year.

The New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings, New Hampshire's exclusive sports betting provider, set individual monthly bests in September for both mobile sports betting at $50.4 million and retail sports betting at $17.6 million.

"We could not be more pleased with the success of sports betting in New Hampshire, as more and more players are turning to this exciting, new way to experience sports, especially now with the football season in full swing," said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. "Now with three retail sportsbooks and an easy-to-use mobile sports betting platform through DraftKings, we anticipate being able to continue building on our success. We will remain hyper-focused on leveraging sports betting as a critical tool for driving maximum revenue in support of New Hampshire schools."

While professional and college football accounted for about half the wagers placed in September 2021, MLB represented roughly 30% of total wagering in New Hampshire. With last month's record totals, New Hampshire is seeing a monthly average of about $47 million in bets this fiscal year.

The New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings launched mobile sports betting in New Hampshire on December 30, 2019 and, in addition to accepting almost 20 million bets, have opened three retail sportsbooks: DraftKings Sportsbook at the Brook in Seabrook and DraftKings Sportsbook at Filotimo, which now has locations in Manchester and Dover.
