MANCHESTER, N.H. (NEXSTAR) — Voters in New Hampshire flocked to the polls for the primary election. Polling locations across the state welcomed residents to the booths, from Concord, to Manchester, to Exeter.

While some voters go into the polls unsure of who they will support, others, like Bree Stevens, have their minds made up.

“I personally think it would be important because we want Nikki Haley to win and we want to make sure that, you know, Trump is defeated,” Stevens said.

All eyes are on the race between former President Donald Trump and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

Haley has been engaging with supporters this past week at meet and greets, while Trump has mainly been hosting rallies.

While this is the main focus, many voters, like Rick Blais, are thankful for living in the state where the first primary takes place.

“Being the first in the nation is the fact that all the politicians are forced to come out here and we get to meet the people. And I think that that’s the true judge of who you want to vote for,” Blais explained.”
