A Hampton man convicted of filming a nude person without their consent and committing bestiality with his dog in 2021 has been sentenced to 60 days in jail.

Timothy Raymond Moran, 46, was sentenced last week in Hampton Circuit Court to six years in jail with all but 30 days from each charge suspended, according to court records. He will have to register as a sex offender. He pleaded guilty to the felony bestiality charge in December, but pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor filming charge in March.

Hampton Circuit Judge Bonnie Jones heard both cases.

Moran was arrested in July. A complaint filed in court states a family member reported finding video footage that showed Moran receiving oral sex from his dog, JB, in March 2021, at Moran’s wife’s home in Hampton.

Jessica Burton-Moran, who’s currently divorcing Timothy Moran, said Friday she was the woman he filmed without her consent, adding that she told him multiple times he wasn’t allowed to have cameras in the house unless they both had access to them.

She also said she’s surprised at how short his sentence is as she worries he could do this to others.

Moran has been represented by Paul Freeman, a lead attorney with Woodmere Law in Williamsburg specializing in family and criminal law. Freeman declined to comment on the verdict when reached by phone Friday.
