Here's one sure sign that the live concert industry is returning to business as usual: Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the beloved seasonal arena rock ensemble, is returning to the road, with stops at Belmont Park and the Prudential Center this month.
"Obviously, it isn’t exactly like in years past," said drummer Jeff Plate. "We still have COVID hanging over our heads and we’ve got to be very cautious and be smart about all of this, but everybody’s just so excited about getting back to work and doing what we do."
Many other holiday favorites are back for live performances, as well, from Handel's Messiah performed by the Hudson Valley Philharmonic to Cherish the Ladies to Broadway star Melissa Errico. Here are a few performances to consider:

Polyphony, Dec. 11
A cappella vocal quartet New York Polyphony brings their blended voices to Caramoor's Music Room for two concerts at 5 and 7 p.m. Dec. 11, performing Sing Thee Nowell, a program of sacred Christmas music spanning seven centuries. The BEST Christmas Ever! Dec. 10

Stars in the Afternoon, Dec. 12

The ‘Italian Broadway Christmas,’ Dec. 13
Anthony Nunziata’s ‘The Italian Christmas Broadway Show!’ is at the White Plains Performing Arts Center. The Carnegie Hall-headlining tenor and songwriter will be performing Broadway hits, Italian standards, and an array of classic and original holiday tunes. Melissa Errico, Dec. 17
Bronxville resident and Tony Award-nominated Broadway star and singer Melissa Errico will do a holiday concert, A Broadway Celebration, at The Emelin Theater in Mamaroneck at 8 p.m. She will be accompanied by Billy Stritch at the piano. Errico has starred in Broadway shows like “My Fair Lady” as Eliza Doolittle, “Les Misérables,” “Dracula,” and Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” and has had featured roles recently on acclaimed TV shows like Showtime’s “Billions.” Tickets are $50-$75. 153 Library Lane, Mamaroneck. KJ Denhert Home for the Holidays, Dec. 16
Denhert brings all of the musicians from the NY Unit and the Jazz Project to the Falcon Live in Marlboro to honor its owner, the late Tony Falco, with the songs and stories from the repertoire of her lifetime. Handel’s 'Messiah,' Dec. 18
The Bardavon Opera House in Poughkeepsie presents the Hudson Valley Philharmonic’s 61st anniversary season at 2 p.m. with a special holiday concert performance of "Messiah" with guest conductor Christine Howlett. Guest vocalists from Cappella Festiva will join the HVP to perform George Frideric Handel’s most popular choral work, for a total of 100 instrumentalists and singers on the Bardavon stage. A pre-concert talk with Maestro Howlett will take place one hour before the concert for all ticket-holders. Tickets begin at $26. Cherish The Ladies, A Celtic Christmas, Dec. 18
Cherish the Ladies returns to The Tarrytown Music Hall to celebrate the holiday season. The Grammy Award nominated Irish-American supergroup formed in 1985 to celebrate the rise of extraordinary women in what had been a male-dominated Celtic music scene. A Very Slambovian Christmas, Dec. 18
Together since the late ’90s, The Slambovian Circus of Dreams began in Sleepy Hollow, as an art school project. Known for their electrifying live performances the band has toured nationally and abroad, playing a moody but upbeat alt-roots rock with an extensive instrumental arsenal (accordion, cello, mandolin, theremin). HVSO Holiday Concert, Dec. 19
The Hudson Valley Saxophone Orchestra will hold its 10th annual Christmas Concert, from 3-4 p.m. at the Freedom Plains United Presbyterian Church, 1168 State Route 55, Lagrangeville. The Klezmatics, Dec. 19
The Klezmatics are world-renowned and Grammy-winning superstars of the klezmer world. They erupted out of New York City's East Village in 1986 and revitalized klezmer for the new century with music that is steeped in Easter European Jewish tradition and spirituality, while incorporating contemporary themes such as human rights and anti-fundamentalism with eclectic musical influences including Arab, African, Latin, and Balkan rhythms, jazz, and punk. 8 p.m Bethel Woods Center for the Performing Arts, Bethel. Handel's 'Messiah,' Dec. 14-18
New York Philharmonic's Handel’s "Messiah" is performed at the Riverside Church. Grammy Award-winning Baroque specialist Jeannette Sorrell conducts the Philharmonic on this holiday piece including dazzling vocal solos, instrumentals and coral writing, in the neo-Gothic Riverside Church, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Home for the Holidays, Dec. 23
The performance will feature holiday favorites and classics from the Big Band Songbook. Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Dec.18, 22
Trans-Siberian Orchestra is touring in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the band's triple-platinum-selling 1996 debut album, "Christmas Eve and Other Stories." The album is well-known to TSO fans, as the band toured it for a dozen holiday seasons starting in 1999, brought it back to the road in 2019, and presented it as a streaming concert event in 2020.
