'They need to hang': Pennsylvania woman arrested in Capitol riot investigation

A Pennsylvania woman, who had allegedly forced her way into the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, demanded that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other lawmakers be handed over to insurrectionists, shouting: "Bring them out now. They're criminals. They need to hang."

According to the FBI, Pauline Bauer, of Kane, Pennsylvania, went on to tell police officers barring her entrance to a hallway: "Bring Nancy Pelosi out here now. We want to hang that f---ing b----. Bring her out. We're coming in if you don't bring her out. What are you trying to do, protect a f---ing Nazi?"

She was arrested today along with a McKean County man, William Blauser, on several charges related to the riot. They are among the 42 people in Pennsylvania who have been arrested in connected with the insurrection.

Before arresting her, the FBI found comments on Facebook from Bauer's profile in which she said she went inside the Capitol.

Bauer was arrested on charges of obstruction of justice; entering a restricted building; disorderly conduct in a restricted building; and violent entry of a restricted building. Blauser was charged with entering a restricted building; disorderly conduct in a restricted building; and violent entry.

Tips to the FBI came from five people about Bauer's and Blauser's alleged involvement on Jan. 6. One of the witnesses frequents a restaurant owned by Bauer and her husband in the Kane area, saying Bauer "became more political over the past year, and began losing business because people were uncomfortable about her constant political rhetoric," according to the FBI's arresting document.

A sixth witness told the FBI that Bauer had arranged for buses to travel from the Kane area to Washington, D.C., for then-President Donald Trump's rally earlier on Jan. 6.

At least three police officers attempted to stop crowds from entering the Capitol door that Blauser and Bauer entered. Blauser walked backwards to push his way through the door, according to the FBI.
