Hankerin' for a slice of King Cake for Mardi Gras? Here are eight spots to feed that need
Parades kick off Feb. 2, and Thibodaux's King Cake Festival is Saturday. Everyone is seeing green, purple and gold.
Local bakers begin making king cakes just after Christmas, but the traditional opening of King Cake season is King's Day. Also known as Twelfth Night or Epiphany, its the day the Bible says the three kings arrived to see the newborn Jesus. This year, that was Jan. 6. Unlike the three kings, no one wants to see the King Cake baby, or they have the pony-up for the next cake.
Here's eight locations to sweeten your Mardi Gras season.
