WORCESTER — The Hanover Theatre Repertory (THT Rep) will hold auditions for its 2022-2023 season, which includes a fully staged production of Shakespeare’s "Macbeth," an all-female staged reading of Arthur Miller’s "The Crucible" and a party-performance called "The Marvelous Party" inspired by Noel Coward.

Equity Principal Auditions (EPAs) for professional and professional-track actors will be held June 24 and 25.

On June 27, auditions will be held for Worc At Play, a no-cost actor training and performance program created by THT Rep’s artistic director, Livy Scanlon.

“The goal of Worc At Play is to cultivate local talent, to give folks the tools they need to perform alongside professionals and to make that training available at no cost,” Scanlon said.

The first class of Worc At Play actor trainees studied with Scanlon for several months before appearing in ensemble roles in THT Rep’s production of "Julius Caesar," which was performed last summer on the Worcester Common. The 2022 class of Worc At Play trainees will undergo an intensive class schedule with Scanlon in July and join the cast of "Macbeth."

Worc At Play auditions are open to all residents of Greater Worcester age 18 and older. All skill levels are welcome to audition.

The auditions will be held at the Jean McDonough Arts Center, 20 Franklin St., Worcester.

The THT Rep 2022-23 season opens with "Macbeth" Sept. 29-Oct. 15.

Scanlon will be featured as the narrator in "The Edgar Allan Poe Double Header" with "The Tell-Tale Heart" and "The Cask of Amontillado" Oct. 27-29.

"The Crucible" all-female staged reading will be March 26, 2023, and "The Marvelous Party" runs May 11-14, 2023.
