What happened to NJ's Wendy Williams? This documentary provides heart-wrenching answers

Wendy Williams is back.

The New Jersey native breaks her silence and bares it all in a new two-part documentary scheduled over two nights this month. This will be the first time in three years fans will hear from the beloved television personality since departing her daytime talk show in 2021.

In the beginning scenes of Lifetime’s ‘Where is Wendy Williams?’ trailer, which is executive produced by the talk show host, depicts her rise in daytime television, spotlights her accolades, such as her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and her financial woes in recent years.

"I have no money, and if it happens to me it can happen to you," Williams says during the unfiltered 4-minute trailer.

And that’s not all.

The trailer also give viewers a sneak peek of her daily life: Wendy being pushed in a wheelchair, her weight being questioned and her crying out for her family. Her health issues and the court ordered guardianship are also included in the heart-wrenching trailer.

“From 6 years old, all I wanted was to be famous," Wendy says during a voiceover clip of the behind-the-scenes footage.

But at the end of the trailer, she says, “I love being famous, but family is everything” as she reunites with her father.

For nearly two years, this documentary chronicled the reality of Wendy’s life after she was placed under financial guardianship, suffering mental and physical issues, Wendy’s delicate state of mind, erratic behavior and declining health were all captured by the cameras. "Where is Wendy Williams?" Is the story of Wendy’s journey to resurrect her career, and what filmmakers discovered along the way, according to Lifetime.com

When does ‘Where is Wendy Williams?’ air?

The Lifetime documentary will air for two nights on Feb. 24 and 25 at 8 p.m.
