Stephanie Grisham, the former Arizona political operative who served as one of President Donald Trump's White House press secretaries, has announced her newest venture. And it's not in politics.

"After two years, my animal rescue dream has come true finally," she told followers in a video posted to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Grisham is now the president of Benjamin's Animal Sanctuary, a nonprofit animal rescue in Kansas.

Inspired by Grisham's dog Ben, the sanctuary is home to two dogs, one cat, one turtle and four chickens.

"(Ben) came into the life of our President, Stephanie, at a tough time for her personally and she fully believes he helped her find not just happiness again, but peace for the first time in years," the rescue's website says.

According to the website, the rescue has started reaching out to other rescue organizations to form partnerships and start fundraising.

They are still searching for a property to allow for "as many animals as possible while prioritizing their safety and comfort."

Benjamin's Animal Rescue touts a three-phase plan, including:

  • Acquiring property.

  • Partnering with schools clubs, nursing homes and children with disabilities.

  • Creating a space at the sanctuary where the public can hold events and visit with animals.

Grisham closed out her video by asking for donations.

"We would be so grateful for anything you can do for the animals we currently have in care and for the future animals we will be getting shortly," she said. She promised to upload more content so people can "get to know the animals better."

Grisham served on Trump's campaign staff during the 2016 presidential race and then as his White House press secretary, before becoming first lady Melania Trump's chief of staff. She resigned after the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot.

Grisham has since become a critic of Trump, saying earlier this summer that she watched him show classified documents to people in Mar-a-Lago during her tenure as press secretary. She also is the author of the 2021 book "I'll Take Your Questions Now: What I Saw at the Trump White House."
