Happening today: OCPS to select new superintendent
Tuesday is a big day for Orange County Public Schools.
The school board is expected to name a new superintendent.

OCPS recently narrowed its search to two finalists.

The candidates, Maria Vazquez and Peter Licata, were interviewed by board members on June 21.
Vazquez is currently the deputy superintendent in Orange County.
Licata is the regional superintendent in Palm Beach County.

The announcement is scheduled to happen at Tuesday’s board meeting, which begins at 4:45 p.m.
OCPS’ current superintendent, Barbara Jenkins, announced her retirement after a decade in the role.
