Happy homecoming: Indian Valley to honor Hall of Fame coach Bob Huggins on Friday

Indian Valley High School will honor 2022 Basketball Hall of Famer Bob Huggins during the boys basketball team's home game against Hiland on Friday.

Huggins played for his father, Charlie, at Indian Valley South and starred on the school's 1972 state championship team. He was the state player of the year in '72. He scored 2,438 career points as a high school player, which ranked fourth in state history at the time of his graduation in 1972.

One of just six head coaches with at least 900 wins, Huggins is in his 16th season at West Virginia. He also coached at Walsh, Akron, Cincinnati and Kansas State.

The junior varsity game will tip off at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity game at 7:30.
