Happy Virus-tine’s Day

This Valentine’s Day isn’t as simple as the last, when we took so much for granted. A nice dinner out or a darkened theater. When a kiss was just a kiss instead of a germ exchange.

Oh, for the innocence. No clue what was coming or how much life would change within weeks.

A hard year later, with vaccines finally at hand, we’re at another turning point, marked again by this day to honor love.

We weep for those who’ve lost their special someone. And celebrate with those still together.

A rose has nothing on a romance that’s made it through the thorns of lockdown.
