Harbor Freight grand opening set for Feb. 4

Jan. 24—The Junction — formerly known as the Logansport Mall — is about to welcome a new tenant.

Harbor Freight Tools will officially open its new store Saturday, Feb. 4 at 8 a.m. The store, with an address of 3922 E Market St., will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

"Our team is ready to serve and deliver value to customers in Logansport and all of Cass County," said Carl Anthrop, Store Manager. "At Harbor Freight, we recognize that now, more than ever, our customers depend on us for the tools they need to get the job done at an affordable price."

According to a press release, the store will stock a full selection of tools and equipment in categories including automotive, air and power tools, storage, outdoor power equipment, generators, welding supplies, shop equipment, hand tools and much more. The stores are smaller than larger home centers.

This new store is the 34th Harbor Freight Tools store in Indiana. The company, which hires locally, has brought between 25-30 new jobs. In 2021, Forbes Magazine recognized Harbor Freight as one of the top 20 large employers in all of retail, one of the top employers in terms of diversity, one of the top employers for women and one of the country's top employers for Veterans.

The Junction now includes Walmart, Dollar Tree, Dunham's Sports, Planet Fitness, First Farmers Bank & Trust and Home2 Suites by Hilton.

Bill Cuppy, Logansport-Cass County Chamber of Commerce president and president of the Cass Logansport Economic Development Organization, announced two more businesses for the Junction last week at the annual chamber luncheon: Dunkin' Donuts and Jimmy John's

Both businesses will be located in The Junction parking lot, not in the main stretch of retail space. Construction on the split-store concept will being in March.

Both Dunkin' Donuts and Jimmy John's are owned by Inspire Brands. The company launched its first co-branded store in Atlanta in February 2022.

Joe DiCosola, owner of The Junction, teased more store announcements soon.

"We've had some great progress with other national brands and hope to share some news within the next 90 days," said DiCosola. "Once released, we'll commence phase three of the project late spring/early summer."
