Harbourside tragedy: One person dies after electrical incident at Harbourside Place fountain in Jupiter

What is Harbourside Place and where is the fountain where Nate Davenport was electrocuted?

Harbourside is an outdoor restaurant-and-retail center that opened in 2014 at U.S. 1 and East Indiantown Road in Jupiter. It abuts the Intracoastal Waterway and houses a number of restaurants, including The Woods Jupiter, golfing great Tiger Woods' restaurant. It also houses a Wyndham Hotel and some businesses.

There are docks on the Intracoastal next to Harbourside where people often park their boats and visit the complex.

The fountain area is between a kids' splash zone area, where jets of water shoot up from the ground, and the stage of an amphitheater where bands play live music. No shows were scheduled on Sunday.

“No climbing” is printed in capital letters on three sides of the fountain. A full list of “Harbourside fountain and splash pad rules” is posted to the left of the fountain with “no swimming/climbing/diving” at the top.

After graduating from Florida State University, he joined the Navy and was a fighter pilot who served overseas in Operation Iraqi Freedom, launched in 2003.

After leaving the Navy, he earned a master's in business and finance at the University of Miami in 2011.

Davenport’s family is planning funeral services at Christ Fellowship Church, where he and his family attended services every Sunday.
