Hard Rock offering $300 bonuses for new hires at upcoming job fair

In the midst of a hospitality labor shortage in Florida and nationwide, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino wants to pay you a little extra to work there.

The Tampa resort is offering $300 bonuses to all new employees hired at a job fair on May 25. It’s not exactly a signing bonus — an employee must work there 90 days in order to claim it — but it’s still a hefty carrot to dangle in hopes of enticing more workers.

Hard Rock spokesman Gary Bitner said the casino has offered similar bonuses before, but this is the first time it’ll be offered to all new employees, regardless of position.

The casino has held other job fairs this year, attracting more than 500 people and offering jobs to more than 200. This fair seeks to fill 300 positions, including housekeepers, security officers, cooks, servers, cashiers, spa workers, technicians, custodians and more.

The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 25 at the Hard Rock Event Center in the casino, 5223 Orient Road, Tampa. People can RSVP at seminolehardrocktampa.com/hiring-event.
