Oct. 1—LIMA — Mayoral candidate Elizabeth Hardesty officially opened her campaign headquarters in Lima. The building at 319 W. Market St. will serve as the primary location for supporters to meet with Hardesty and pick up campaign merchandise.
Hardesty said that the office will be open from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, as well as varying hours on Saturday. She also mentioned that she plans on being at the office every Friday from 4:30 to 5:30.
"It's really exciting to be able to have the public come in and visit," she said. "We'd love to encourage people to come down, say hi, ask me any questions, and maybe we can go get a cup of Kewpee coffee."
The building will also serve as the location for fundraisers throughout the month, as well as Hardesty's election night headquarters. Hardesty said that she was happy to have her new campaign office so close to downtown Lima.
"We have a great location, no doubt there," she said. "Everybody driving down Market Street, the front signs are helping and it's just a way to be visible. Everybody wants to know who I am, so I'll be here once a week so people can stop in, and it's just nice to be visible."
Early voting for the 2021 election begins Oct. 5. Election Day is on Nov. 2.
