Harford County To Distribute Masks, COVID Test Kits To Public

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Harford County residents in need of a face mask or COVID-19 at-home test kit will have an opportunity to get both at an upcoming drive-thru event.

The Harford County Health Department in collaboration with the Maryland Department of Health plan to provide free KN95 masks and IHealth at-home test kits to the public on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022 at the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) Station at 1631 Robin Cirle #3068 in Forest Hill.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or while supplies last.

Those who come to the event are asked to remain in their car, wear their masks, and do their best to arrive on-time and not early, county officials said.

One testing kit and four masks will be distributed to each person that arrives in person. The tests are intended for all people age 15 years or older and for children as young as two years old, when samples are collected by an adult.

Masks should be worn by people indoors age two years or older, to slow the spread when around others outside your household.

“Correct and consistent mask use is an important and easy step that everyone can take to maximize protection from the COVID variants and prevent possibly spreading it to others,” said Acting Health Officer Marcy Austin in a news release. “We are very grateful to work with the Maryland Department of Transportation to offer a drive-thru option to give out free KN95 masks and at-home test kits to the community."

In case of inclement weather, please check the Harford County Health Department website (www.harfordcountyhealth.com) and social media pages for any changes to the event.
