Harford County Public Library seeking candidate for board trustee to represent southeast Harford County

Aug. 22—The Harford County Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking candidates to be considered for a trustee appointment to the Board.

The Harford County Public Library consists of nine voting trustees and one, non-voting student representative who serves a one-year term during their senior year of high school, according to the library system.

The Harford County Public Library Board of Trustees operates under the Laws of Maryland, Title 23, and Harford County Code, Article 21. The board meets every third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m., from July through June, except for August and December. The duties of the trustees include establishing and operating the library to provide free services, setting a library policy, adopting reasonable rules, regulations, and bylaws for the use of the library and the conduct of its business.

The term of appointment for the trustee will be from the date of appointment to June 30, 2025, with eligibility for appointment to a five-year term. Applicants must be residents of Harford County.
