'Harley Quinn' Is Officially Getting a 4th Season on HBO Max

Harley Quinn is coming back for more eating, banging, and killing, baby!

HBO Max has officially announced that it is renewing the hit animated series Harley Quinn ahead of its season 3 finale.

In the current season, Harley and Ivy have returned from their romantic (and sex-filled) tour around the world and are back in Gotham being the town’s sexiest couple. There, they’ve had to deal with Joker running for mayor, Ivy not being able to connect with The Green, and Batman kidnapping Ivy’s plant friend.

But that’s not the only news about the show. After the upcoming season finale on September 15, there will be a new showrunner. Series writer and consulting producer Sarah Peters is set to take over that role from Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, who originally developed Harley Quinn.

With the recent Warner Bros. Discovery merger, many movies and shows are getting the axe, including some based on DC comics. The biggest canceled project was the Batgirl movie, starring Leslie Grace, which was supposed to introduce the DCEU’s first trans character, Alicia Yeoh.

Another canceled show is Young Justice, which was originally a Cartoon Network series before being picked up by DC Universe and, eventually, HBO Max. That show will reportedly not get a fifth season.

However, another queer series, Greg Berlanti’s Green Lantern TV show starring several different lanterns including gay man Alan Scott (Jeremy Irvine), Guy Garnder (Finn Wittrock), Simon Baz, Jessica Cruz, Sinestro, Kilowog, and more, is still scheduled to arrive next year on the streamer.

Harley Quinn is currently streaming on HBO Max.
