Dear Valued Subscriber,

Welcome to Don't Miss Reads, our weekly newsletter highlighting some of our editors' favorite stories, photos and videos that you might have missed.

My name is David Dishman and I am the business editor at The Oklahoman. Perhaps the biggest business news of the week nationally was the Federal Reserve raising interest rates by a shocking amount in an attempt stem the effects of inflation. Real estate reporter Richard Mize quickly put together a piece explaining what that means to Oklahoma's housing market, and I'd encourage you to check that out if you're planning to buy or sell your home in the near future.

However, there was another story that held more local interest, especially in the oil and gas world. Harold Hamm announced earlier this week a plan to take Continental Resources private by spending nearly $4.4 billion to acquire all of the company's outstanding shares. It's an interesting move for one of the state's most prominent businesses, and perhaps its most famous oil mogul, and Jack Money delves into the move further in his story.

While my focus during the work day tends to revolve around the business world of Oklahoma, we had a whole slate of great work this week from across all subject areas that I hope you enjoy reading.

Below are links to more of our editors' favorite stories of the week. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did.
