Bob Hanson, the third-generation owner and president of Harold’s Photo in Sioux Falls, died Wednesday.

Hanson, whose full name was Robert, was born August 2, 1946. He died May 17 at the age of 76 following complications from heart surgery at the Sanford Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, according to his obituary.

Harold’s Photo is one of the oldest businesses in Sioux Falls. The store at 912 W. 41st Street does photo finishing, sells cameras and equipment and prints photos on canvas, metal and more.

Hanson's grandfather, Emil, started the business in 1910. Hanson joined the team in 1969 and later co-owned it with his cousins. In the early 1990s, he took over as sole owner and grew the business to nine locations in three states. Most recently, he ran it with help from his children David, Andrew and Emily.
