The winner of the latest Enquirer Athlete of the Week fan poll is Carson Wager of the Harper Creek swimming and diving team.

Fans got behind Wager to help him edge fellow Athletes of the Week finalists Peyton Russell of Lakeview, Ethan Crabtree of Coldwater and Hayden Mueller of Lakeview. Wager received 47% of the vote by the 5 p.m. Wednesday deadline. Thanks to his fans, he will receive an Enquirer Athlete of the Week T-shirt.

Harper Creek hosted an invitational on Saturday with a loaded field with Carson Wager finishing first in the 100 butterfly in a time of 59.14 and first in the 100 backstroke in 59.73, while also participating in the first-place 400 free relay.

"We are very proud of Carson’s achievements so far this year. He’s improved his attitude and work ethic from last season, and that is turning into success and state cuts in the pool. We are excited to see how far his leadership will carry him," Harper Creek coach Devin Hurst said.
