Harpers celebrating 50th anniversary
LUNA PIER – Larry and Georgia Harper of Luna Pier recently observed their golden wedding anniversary. A vow renewal and dinner took place Saturday at Angelo’s Northwood Villa.
The couple was married March 10, 1973, at First Church of the Nazarene, Monroe. Their children are Kelly Allen of Luna Pier and Chad (Tiffany) Harper of Monroe. They also have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Harper has owned Harper Construction since 1987. Before starting the company, he worked for La-Z-Boy (1972-78) and Ford Motor Co.’s Milan plant (1979-94).
A 1972 graduate of Mason High School, he enjoys watching the Detroit Tigers and golfing.
Mrs. Harper is a homemaker and had also worked in homecare as an aide from 1973 to ’83. From 1984 to 1989 she worked for Woolworth.
A 1972 graduate of Gainesboro High School, Gainesboro, Tennessee, she enjoys reading and spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
They both enjoy traveling and going on trips and cruises with their family and friends.
