Is Harris Teeter open on Easter? How about malls? What’s open on Good Friday and Easter
With Good Friday and Easter this weekend, there are several city offices and businesses closed for the holiday.
Here are the Charlotte businesses and city services available or have adjusted holiday hours.
Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS)
The CATS Call Center, lost and found, pass sales and information office at the Charlotte Transportation Center is closed Friday. Normal operating hours will resume on Saturday. All CATS transit including bus, rail, and paratransit services will operate on a regular weekday schedule for the holiday.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools
There will be no school on Good Friday for CMS schools, according to the 2022-2023 academic calendar.
Grocery and retail stores
Several national grocery and retail stores will be closed this weekend, but some will be open for shoppers. RetailMeNot rounded up a list of retail stores that will not be open on Sunday:

Local grocery stores such as Harris Teeter and Food Lion will be open for normal business hours. H.E.B, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods will be open on Easter but may have holiday hours.

Carolina Place: Open Friday 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Closed Sunday.
Charlotte Premium Outlets: Open Friday 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Open Sunday 12-6 p.m.
Concord Mills: Open Friday 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Open Sunday 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Northlake Mall: Open Friday 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Closed Sunday.
SouthPark Mall: Open Friday 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Closed Sunday.
Mail services
The United States Postal Service does not recognize Easter or Good Friday as holidays, according to their website, but all Charlotte locations are closed on Sundays.
Mecklenburg County services
According to the Mecklenburg County website, all offices and services are closed Friday, including all units of the Department of Social Services, Public Health, Tax Office, Elections Office, Register of Deeds Office and Land Use and Environmental Services Agency Office.
All recreation and senior centers, aquatic facilities and nature centers will be closed on Friday and Sunday.

Several local restaurants and meal services are offering special deals for Easter. Whether you want to dine in person or get takeout, here’s a list of places that will be open for the holiday weekend.
