Harrison Floyd, one of 19 Ga. election interference co-defendants, will stay in Fulton jail

Of the 19 people indicted for allegedly trying to interfere with Georgia’s 2020 presidential election, only one did not negotiate bond before surrendering to the Fulton County Jail.

Harrison Floyd was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Thursday afternoon.

Channel 2 Action News has obtained copies of consent orders that lay out bond terms for each defendant except Floyd.

Because Floyd did not negotiate his bond before surrendering, he will have to remain in the Fulton County Jail until he has a bond hearing.

There is no word on why Floyd did not receive a bond like the other defendants.

As of Thursday afternoon, 11 of the defendants have turned themselves in at the jail, including former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and former New York City mayor and attorney for former Pres. Donald Trump Rudy Giuliani.

The remaining defendants have until 12 p.m. on Friday to surrender to the Fulton County Jail.

Floyd is the former executive director of a national campaign coalition called Black Voices for Trump.

He is accused of arranging a meeting between Fulton County election worker Ruby Freeman and Trevian Kutti, a former publicist to Kanye West. Kutti then threatened Freeman and claimed she was involved in voter fraud, according to prosecutors.

Floyd is charged with violation of the Georgia RICO Act, conspiracy to commit solicitation of false statements and writings and influencing witnesses.
