Harrison Twp. hosts ‘Touch-A-Truck’ event; families check out emergency vehicles, Storm Tracker 7

Families got to see dozens of unique vehicles at Harrison Township’s “Touch-a-Truck” event Saturday.

Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon, police cruisers, fire trucks, service vehicles, SWAT, busses and even Storm Center 7′s own Storm Tracker 7 took over Sinclair Park.

The hands-on event gave families a chance to see, touch and explore their favorite vehicles and see firsthand how they help the community.

Storm Center 7′s Robert Gauthreaux showed children and adults alike all the capabilities of Storm Tracker 7.

Meteorologists in Storm Tracker have access to live radar, mobile weather station information and model data in the vehicle. They can accurately create forecasts and deliver them live from anywhere if needed from the vehicle.

The vehicle can deliver a live signal via Live U, which uses cell technology or a satellite dish.

The event was free and open to the public.
