Harry Beaudet Was Deeply Involved In Triton High School Sports

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man who embodied sports at Triton Regional High School recently died at the age of 89. Below is the obituary for Harry Beaudet, originally published by Earle Funeral Home.

Harry T. Beaudet, of Washington Township, NJ, passed away April 20, 2020, at the age of 89 years.

Devoted husband of the late Julia J. Beaudet (nee Denzy). Beloved father of Daniel R. Cullen (Bernadette) of Sicklerville, NJ, Diane D. Heffernan (Bob) of Ocean City, NJ, and Jeannine V. Chew (Jeffrey) of Blackwood, NJ. Proud grandfather of John, Niki, Danielle, Jeffrey, Anna, Debbie, Monique, and Tiffany; great-grandfather of Kailyn, Liam, and Dominic. Dear brother of Eileen Atkinson of Mt. Laurel, NJ, the late Francis Beaudet, and the late Mary Howell.

Harry graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1954. Following graduation, he served his country in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956, during the Korean War. He retired in 1995 after 38 years of dedicated work as a teacher and athletic director for Triton Regional High School.

Harry began coaching for the Triton Red basketball team in 1963 and took them all the way to the State Championship in 1972. Overall he lead his team to five conference championships and one sectional title. He also coached cross country and was able to work his coaching excellence into winning 245 total meets and several conference championships.

Harry had a deep passion for coaching and a true love for the school, he was widely known to be the man to go to for any and all Triton knowledge.

He enjoyed traveling and learning about history in his free time. He liked putting his mind to the test playing trivia games. Harry’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He loved watching them play sports and was always their biggest cheerleader.

Harry’s viewing, and burial at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be held privately by his family due to the health care crisis of COVID-19. A visitation and memorial service for all friends and family will be announced at a later date.
