Harry Styles has released a new music video for his song “Falling”.

The clip, unveiled on Friday, shows the former One Direction star performing his song on a piano – nothing too unusual, if not for the water pouring from the instrument and slowly filling up the room.

By the end of the video, Styles is completely engulfed underwater but carries on singing.

The clip was directed by Dave Meyers, who has worked on many music videos, including for Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Camila Cabello, Ariana Grande and Travis Scott.

“Falling” is an excerpt from Styles’s second solo album, Fine Lines, which came out in December.

Speaking to NPR in a recent interview, Styles compared his sophomore album to the first one, saying he was less fearful working on this second release.

“When I listen back to the first album now, although I still love it so much, I feel like I was almost bowling with the bumpers up a little bit. I can hear places where I was playing it safe,” he said.

“I think with this one, after touring with an album that wasn’t necessarily a radio record and people came to see the show, I realised that the only thing that people really want is for you to do what you want to do.”
