Was Harry Styles in SLO? Viral video shows singer shopping at Trader Joe’s

A social media video that’s been shared several times on Instagram and TikTok shows three-time Grammy award winner Harry Styles apparently shopping in Trader Joe’s in San Luis Obispo.

@HarryFlorals, one of the many accounts that reposted the video, shows the singer inside the front of the store near the cash register closest to the entrance wearing a gray Aprés Ski Team sweatsuit. The video shows a woman running up to the celebrity and a man accompanying him, but it is unclear if she was part of Styles’ entourage or a fan.

The Instagram post claimed the other man in the video was Ben Winston, an award-winning video producer who has worked with Styles and One Direction on multiple occasions.

A Trader Joe’s employee on Tuesday confirmed the star was indeed in the grocery store for 10 to 15 minutes, but declined to give more information due to privacy concerns.

“It was a pretty big deal,” the employee said. “People were pretty jazzed about it.”

The former One Direction member’s presence in the county quickly made its way onto the San Luis Obispo subreddit, r/SLO. One Redditer said they saw Styles inside the store around 3 p.m.

“Saw him, asked him for a picture to which he politely denied, but proceeded to chat and give me a hug,” the Reditter wrote. “Looking smashing in grey Aprés Ski sweatsuit. Smelled like an Angel.”

The poster said they told Styles it was hard to believe he was in SLO of all places and “he just laughed and said it’s beautiful here.”

Another Redditer said they are friends with a Trader Joe’s employee who was working at the store at the time Styles was alleged to be there and said he was “rushed by college girls and then went to Food 4 Less.”

Many other Redditers sympathized with the celebrity, saying things like, “Let the man shop in peace.”
