Hartford HealthCare, which has held naming sponsorship rights at the Xfinity Theatre in Hartford and the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford since 2017, has added the soon-to-open, formerly named Harbor Yard Amphitheater to its sponsorships. Going forward the concert venue will named the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater, the company announced Tuesday.
The 5,700-seat amphitheater will host 20 or more concerts per season, as well as many community health events, festivals and other regional events, according to venue officials.
Live Nation will continue to book and promote events at the venue, which is a joint venture between the City of Bridgeport and the amphitheater, company officials said Tuesday in a written release.
Hartford HealthCare also announced Tuesday that the Toyota Oakdale Theatre and Xfinity Theatre will host two of Hartford HealthCare’s COVID-19 vaccine mega-sites beginning March 1 and March 8 respectively. For more details on how to register visit: hartfordhealthcare.org/vaccine
“The Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater is, in every way, a sign of hope for the future,” said Jeffrey Flaks, president and CEO of Hartford HealthCare. “In addition to concerts, the new location will host many community health events, festivals, and other regional events when it is safe enough to do so. It is another example of Hartford HealthCare’s continued investment in our communities — improving quality of life, improving access to world-class health care and continuing to drive economic development and vitality. This is the kind of investment that will make Bridgeport a true destination.”
Hartford HealthCare’s network of hospitals includes St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, which it acquired in 2019.
Howard Saffan, principal of the Harbor Yard Amphitheater and developer of the project, said his organization was excited to partner with the health care provider.
“Hartford HealthCare is synonymous with excellence. We are proud to name the venue the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater,” Saffan said in the news release “We most certainly will tap into Hartford HealthCare’s expertise to ensure our guests have a safe and healthy experience. We are lucky to have a naming partner who cares so much about Bridgeport.”
Jim Koplik, president of Live Nation Connecticut and Upstate New York, also expressed approval of the new partnership.
“We are excited to take our relationship to the next level with the naming rights for the state-of-the-art amphitheater in Bridgeport,” he said. “The Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater promises to be one of the premier boutique amphitheaters in the country. I can’t think of a better partner. We are extremely proud of our association with Hartford HealthCare and look forward to doing more good together.”
Hartford HealthCare has donated $10,000 to Koplik’s coat drive to benefit those less fortunate in Bridgeport.
