Hartford police investigating fatal shooting of woman on Colonial Street

Hartford police are investigating the death of a woman who they say was shot inside a home in the 100 block of Colonial Street on Saturday evening.

Patrol officers responded to the scene at approximately 9:17 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, after a citizen caller reported a person shot, police said

The officers located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound at the indoor crime scene. EMS personnel pronounced the woman dead.

At approximately 10:53 p.m. on Saturday, officers said that they detained one person at the scene for questioning.

Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions is leading the investigation of the homicide, which police believe to be an isolated occurrence.
