Hartford police investigating two Sunday night shootings

As Hartford police officers responded to a report of a shooting on Mather Street Sunday night, a man who had suffered gunshots wounds arrived at a local hospital, police said.

The victim, a male in his 30s who was not identified, was suffering from gunshot wounds that are believed to be non-life-threatening at this time, police said.

The officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Mather Street at about 6:47 p.m., police said. As the officers canvassed the area, evidence of gunfire was found, police said. While the officers were on scene, “a victim arrived at an area hospital for treatment,” police said. The hospital was not named.

Then, at about 8:03 p.m., officers were dispatched the 400 block of Park Street on a report of another shooting. The officers found a gunshot victim; the male in his 30s who also was not identified was taken to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical, but stable condition, police said.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded and is investigating both incidents, police said.
