Hartford police: Parolee had guns, drugs and cash

Hartford police who joined parole officers in checking up on a parolee in the city ended up arresting him on gun and drug charges, police said Monday.

Luis Miguel Rodriguez of Hartford was arrested on four charges during Thursday’s parole compliance check. Police said they found two guns he wasn’t supposed to have, ammunition, illegal drugs, and thousands of dollars in cash.

Rodriguez was charged with one count of possession of a stolen firearm; two counts of criminal possession of a firearm; four counts of possession of narcotics and one count of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, police said.

Members of three specially-trained teams joined parole officers in the check at Rodriguez’s home at 162 Bushnell St. The teams were the Hartford police Fugitive Task Force, Violent Crimes Unit and Auto Theft Unit, police said.

One of the guns Rodriguez had was listed as stolen from West Springfield, Mass., they said.

Rodriguez was remanded to the custody of the state Department of Correction.
