Hartland, which qualified 10 wrestlers for the individual state finals, will face Temperance Bedford in the team quarterfinals Friday in Kalamazoo.

Hartland won’t have to go through either of the two perennial heavyweights in Division 1 wrestling to reach the state championship match.

The Eagles will face Temperance Bedford in the state quarterfinals at 2:15 p.m. Friday at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo, the MHSAA announced Sunday. If Hartland wins that match, it will face the winner of the Holt-Rockford quarterfinal at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Hartland beat Bedford, 60-17, on Jan. 21. The Eagles beat Rockford, 47-20, on Dec. 14. They did not face Holt in the Holt Duals on Jan. 21.

Hartland has won 26 straight matches since opening the season with a 47-15 loss at Catholic Central.

In the other bracket, Detroit Catholic Central will face Warren DeLaSalle and Davison will take on Romeo in quarterfinal matches. The winners will meet in the semifinals.

Since Hartland won the Division 1 championship in 2016, Catholic Central (four) and Davison (the last two) have won every title. They met in the last three state championship matches.

In Division 2, Fowlerville will take on Gaylord in the quarterfinals at 6:45 p.m. Friday at Wings Event Center. The winner will get powerhouse Lowell or Birmingham Brother Rice at noon Saturday in the semifinals.

The Gladiators are in the team finals for the first time since 1998. They were state Class B champions in 1994.
