Harvest Moon Drive-In reopening for 70th season

GIBSON CITY, Ill. (WCIA) — Workers at Harvest Moon Twin Drive-in Movie Theater are putting the final touches on their reopening for an anniversary season.

The drive-in located on Sangamon Avenue in Gibson City was established in 1954. This will be their 70th year of operation and theater officials are reopening for moviegoers Friday and Saturday night with warmer spring weather.

The gates will open Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m., and opening previews will start at 7:30.

The two movies playing for opening weekend are “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” and “Kung Fu Panda 4.”

According to the theater’s Facebook page, the first 100 cars to come for Ghostbusters will get free mini posters, with a limit of one poster per car. Ghostbusters will also be in attendance for photo opportunities.

Tickets cost $10 for everyone ages 12 & older and $8 for kids ages 4-11. Kids under the age of 4 can get in for free. Tickets are available both online and at the theater’s gate.
